10 Top K-Series Starring Jang Nara

Jang Nara

When it comes to K-drama royalty, Jang Nara sits high on my list – and its not just because our birthday falls on same day (though I admit, that does make me feel a personal connection). She is someone I look up to so much not only as an actress but as a person the way she takes care of herself. She not only gives hit after hit but also South Korea’s baby faced beauty.

The first series of Jang Nara which I saw was, You are my Destiny. After watching each of her series year on year, she has become my most favorite actress in the Kdrama land.

Jang Nara has been a beacon of talent and grace in the Korean Entertainment Industry. Despite her soft, kind appearance she can pull off strong, bold characters like its natural. And lets not forget her multi-talented nature – acting, singing, multi-lingual, you name it, she nails it. She is the kind of actress who makes you forget she’s acting because she becomes her characters. There is something so natural about her performances, making it impossible not to fall for her character she portrays.

So, yes, her is a list of my top 10 favorite Jan Nara K-dramas (trust me, it was tough narrowing it down!):

10 Best KDramas Of Jang Nara

Ever wished you could rewind your life and make different choices? That is what happens for Ma Jin Joo (played by Jang Nara) and Choi Ban Do (Son-Ho Jun) post after their divorce. Go Back Couple is the emotional roller coaster of second chances, and trust me you’ll laugh so hard, cry hard and you will end up hugging your mother so hard, might even call your ex by the end of it (don’t do it). Jang Nara’s portrayal of a woman navigating life, love and regrets also portrays how difficult and rewarding relationships can be. It is such a funny series. And Jang Nara’s chemistry with Jang Ki Yong is another thing you should look forward.

Each and every character is there to put a permenant stay in your heart. Such a beautiful series which you should never miss watching.

For the role she played here, she has bagged so many nominations and awards notably – KBS Drama Award for Excellence Award, Actress in a Mini Series. The couple also won, Best Coupl Award 2017.

Hello Monster is one of the most underrated series. It is centered around crime and mystery. Jang Nara brings an emotional depth to her role as Cha Ji an, a detective working alongside our handsomest Seo In Gook who played the role of Genius Criminal Profiler Lee Hyun. The story has depth and its too intense and nerve wreaking. Jang Nara’s character, Cha Ji-an, adds a perfect emotional depth to the otherwise tense and dark storyline. Her Chemistry with Seo in Guk is unexpectedly electrifying. Its such a must watch kdrama that would make you fall in love with her bold and gutsy role. Its obviously one of the most memorable series for me of Jang Nara’s.

Also, Park Bo Gum has a terrific job in this show and bagged some awards as well. That gives more reason for you to bing watch it today.

She did so well with a flair. laying the role of a high school teacher, she confronts the reality of the Korean education system, helping her students with both academic and personal struggles. Her compassion and determination shine throughout the series, making her character both relatable and inspiring.

This is Jang Nara’s latest project, and I’m already hooked! In Good Partner, she plays Cha Eun Gyeong, a sharp, no-nonsense divorce attorny who faces several personal and professional challenges along with her junior – Nam Ji Hyun. I love when Jang Nara has a platform to pull of a strong and witty role. Since she is also a mother here, the emotional switch that she does throughout the series is mindblowing. Her chemistry with Nam Ji Hyun as well the kid who played as her daughter is on point. The show is still ongoing and continuously reaching highest viewership, but I can already tell it’s going to be another one of her stellar performances.

This show will definitely move you and will have a lasting impression.

If you love palace intrigue, betrayal, and characters who won’t let the world trample them, this one’s for you. Bold, fearless, and absolutely thrilling—The Last Empress is Jang Nara at her most dynamic. Playing the role of Oh Sunny, a musical actress who becomes an empress in a twisted, modern monarchy, she brings vulnerability and strength to the character. It’s a wild ride full of twists, turns, and a lot of suspense. You’ll love every second of it! Also, her wardrobe? Total queen vibes. Its such a satisfying show to watch which has reached viewership rating 17.9%. Which is quite high.

Moreover the OST is so good. And her chemistry with both Choi Jin Hyuk and the antagonistic chemistry with Shin Sung Rok was perfect.

If you’re in the mood for a feel-good romantic comedy, this is it. Jang Nara’s character, Han Mi-mo, is a former pop idol turned marriage consultant. In One More Happy Ending, she’s a hot mess, but in the most endearing way possible. The show’s a rollercoaster of emotions, and whether she’s cracking you up or making you tear up, she does it all with such ease. It’s the perfect binge-watch when you need a pick-me-up (or a reminder that it’s okay to not have your life together all the time).

I mean, who else but Jang Nara could play a real estate agent-slash-exorcist and make it look this cool? In Sell Your Haunted House, she’s Hong Ji-ah, and honestly, it is a bit scary, more funny and fascinating at the same time. Her character exorcises spirits while dealing with her own emotional baggage, and Jang Nara absolutely nails the balance between tough and vulnerable. If you love supernatural stories with heart, don’t miss this one! She pulls of the black outfit through out the series like no other. The series is very much engaging and a bit different from what she has done in the past so… you definitely gotta give it a try. It was also the series where Jung Young Hwa acted after a long time, so it was nice to have these two onscreen. I think Jang Nara with younger actors always works out well.

One of her earlier dramas, but a classic. In You Are My Destiny, Jang Nara plays Jang Sae Byuk, a girl who finds herself entangled in a complicated relationship after an accidental pregnancy. It’s the kind of emotional, heartstring-tugging drama that K-dramas are known for, and Jang Nara’s performance is what made this show iconic. It is also so so soooo funny with Jung Hyuk being her on screen lover. Choi Jin Hyuk as the 2nd lead is such an eye candy.

This drama won several awards for Best Osts, Best Couple award and Jang Nara for Popularity award, actress. Its perfect on days you are extremely bored and just wanna delve into a classic korean romance. During the same year, Jang Nara also did another project – Mr Back. Ever felt the societal pressure to “have it all”? Jang Nara’s character, Jang Ha-ri, is a career-driven woman who’s given up on marriage but desperately wants a baby. Her portrayal of a modern woman grappling with her biological clock is both humorous and deeply emotional. Watching her balance career, family, and her own desires feels like watching your own struggles play out on screen. It’s refreshingly honest and super relatable. It is also the series which Jang Nara found it very much close to her heart during her shoot.
