Learning: A never ending trail that keeps our life a little more interesting!

What skills or lessons have you learned recently?

I always have a clear understanding about the difference between studying and learning. And that is why the word learning always excites me and it quenches my curiosity without bias. My greatest teacher in my life is life itself and myself. And my learning courses are always intense and annoying.

I better split this blog post into two, first I talk about skills I learnt and next I’ll talk about lessons I learnt this year!

The Tiny Little Skills I Learned Recently:

I know it might not be fancy and appealing. It tasted deliciosa and everyone who ate including me is alive.
  1. I started getting involved in cooking. Since my dad had his eye surgery and mom was also busy often, I started taking up some tasks in the kitchen. So here comes my new found passion for life-skill: Cooking. I do know how to cook. I know to an extent that I could survive with, Dhal, Sambar, Rasam, Rice, Dosa and Egg Fry etc! But this time, I got my hands on experimenting with new foods with passion. Mutton Chops Gravy, Parsi style scrambled egg, Brinjal toast, Butter Garlic Prawn… And more…
  2. I finally got my driver licence! Wohoo… Actually it’s a long story why it got too late. Life has been out cooking for a right time for me to get it… So yes, finally I got my license after intense practice, training and with a sprinkle of confidence in this. Another life-skill right here.
  3. Last 3 months I upped my marketing skill by doing some LinkedIn courses. I didn’t wanted to waste much of my time before picking up my new job so I did these courses: Career Essential in Generative AI, Advertising on FB, SEO Foundations, Go-To-Market & Email Marketing. It was fun, it did gave me a feel like I was productive.
  4. I attended some 20 interviews if I am not wrong and my development throughout this phase is immense. I, who is afraid of answering questions, has developed a resistance for that fear. Of course it scares me, but I learnt to deal with it despite the scare despite the starting trouble.
  5. Oh! I also learn a new skill, to feed my stray dogs treats without letting them grab my entire hand. Lol! Best skill of all…

I want to learn a lot more new skills in the upcoming year… Maybe dancing, DIY home decor, embroidery as well, more art… Survival skill for surviving without anxiety and existential crisis?! I don’t know. Whatever life has in store for me.

10 BIG LESSONS LIFE TAUGHT ME IN 2024

Sunset
  1. The gap that is left by your dogs’ departure is going to be huge. You will miss her everyday. No body is gonna understand the immense grief you carry. So don’t resist it. Feel through it and let it pass. Because grief is also a life cycle of love you have.
  2. Never give too much love and trust to anyone in the beginning of a friendship or relationship. Meet people where they want to meet. Don’t overshare or overcare. Step up your boundaries until the other party let their guard down or else you will be used and thrown away in a flash.
  3. When you can’t able to handle a situation, when you want yourself to be free from pain, pray. Your prayers and desperate cry will be answered. God will stage a situation that opens a door for you to escape, grab that opportunity and let yourself free.
  4. Dear women, never underestimate all the signs that screams it’s a red flag. If it’s a red flag, you can’t blame yourself that your eye is at fault that the flag is not shown to you in green. If you want a green flag, accept that it’s a red flag that makes you miserable. Move on.
  5. You don’t have to work hard to prove yourself every time & everywhere. Make it a 75-25 split. 75% smart work and 25% hard work. At the end of the day it’s all about if the work is done, not about how hard you worked to get it done. I know it sounds harsh. I learnt the hard way.
  6. If it gambles with your health and peace… It is something you should either de-prioritize or just dunk it. If you realise you are meddling with others’peace and health… Stop it.
  7. Don’t compromise yourself or your needs, don’t put down your boundaries for breadcrumbs and bare minimums. You deserve way better than this.
  8. Life and Death is part of nature. If you truly love nature, you should learn to admire its face in every light and every shade of darkness. Learnt from Marcus Aurelius.
  9. Never force open the door that has already been closed. You are never meant for that it can be a job opportunity or a person or a situation. Look at that door in front of you right now. Don’t worry about the future. Just think about today and walk right through it. You got it.
  10. Family, Friends (in all forms and sizes) & Travelling will always be my real true happiness. I felt it in my bones and soul. Both are polarity. One is holding the roots and the other is letting it go. But I am good at doing both. I am going to try my best to stay that way.

That’s not all! I have a lot to share, but I don’t remember much right now😅. 2024 was a year of manifestations, wrong decisions, beautiful experiences, love, loss, achievements and pain. And I never regret everything that life threw along my way. I did do my best! I handled things with considerations. So no regret.
