What are 5 everyday things that bring you happiness?

How to define happiness?

We all define happiness differently, don’t we?

Not everyone is made happy by the same things or people. For me, happiness feels like warmth and comfort. It’s like resting under the shade of a tree while watching big, fluffy clouds move aimlessly across the sky. Happiness is like breathing without difficulty. It’s the overflowing emotion I see in my dogs’ eyes when they catch sight of me as I return home. Some days, happiness is just a feeling that comes naturally.

Happiness is the kind of emotion that gets me tearing up someday and gets me lose myself and dance around some days.

But if I have to pinpoint just 5 top things that bring me joy… I know exactly what they are.

5 Things That Brings Me Happiness

1. Mornings

Despite the common reluctance to wake up, mornings bring me happiness. Waking up feels like a privilege. The sensation of air brushing against my skin and the sunlight’s warmth immediately lifts my spirits, reminding me that I am alive. Spending 10 minutes doing streches, and spending 10 min under the sun with a book, I realize I’ve survived another night, I’m grateful to be alive, and I’m grateful to move around and feel things.

2. Nature

On my way to work, I cherish the sun’s warmth and the views nature provides. The small hills, the flower-studded eastern red bud(looks like that), moringas, bougainvillea, and the Albizia Julibrissin fill me with childlike joy. And when I’m going back home, I love watching the moon and stars and the dark outline of the hill. That gets me. A simple view as that is all I crave for. A simple view that brings peace and happiness.

3. People

Although animals and trees have always been my preference, a significant part of my happiness is tied to people. People make me nervous as it’s hard to know if they’ll stay in your life. But I still find joy in being around them. Like having breakfast with my family, sharing smiles with strangers, getting hold of a sight of people I care about, listening to their stories, little interaction with office folks, or making someone laugh with a silly joke. These interactions remind me of my worth and bring me immense joy.

4. Food

I love food. I am not a gluttonous monster who loves to gobble food. But… Food makes me happy. They give me a reason to stay alive. My motivation factors are just 2 – Food & Travel. Whenever I want to give up on life… I just say to myself. There are so many bad things in life. But you are yet to taste the most authentic food, culture and experience this world has to offer. So hold on to this life. Whenever I see food, wherever I smell food… It just makes my mood lift up. Trying new food… Pastries… And savouries make me feel like I am living my life. Unfortunately… I can’t eat many foods due to dietary restrictions. But… The mere existence of food is enough to make me happy.

5. Dogs

Coming home to my dogs is the best part of my day. They’re always so happy to see me, and it makes me feel loved. Cause the way they look at me when I get back home, is the look of immense love. That look reminds me there are always a bunch of tailed beings waiting for me and unconditionally loving me despite how things and people weigh me down. Every time I get back home and hug Pearly, my doggo sis… It’s my last resort to happiness. But she’s not a fan of my clumsy hugs.

The Simple Joy of Being Happy

Happiness isn’t something far away or hard to find. It’s in the little things we do every day. It’s in the quiet morning moments, the beauty around us, the people we meet, the food we eat, and the pets we love. Happiness is right here in the normal stuff we often don’t notice. So, take a minute to look around and enjoy the happy things in your life. They’re closer than you think.

Ofcourse, Money also makes me happy… But unfortunately it makes me happy only on my Payday. Rest of the days… With every spend I make, it just a source of my sadness.😂 So it’s definitely not on top 5… Not even in top 20.
