Are you the kind of person who buys one handbag a year and uses it to its max potential before even thinking about another? Someone who’ll spend hours researching every little detail to make sure you’re getting a product that actually lasts? If so, let me convince you why you might just need to give Allen Solly a try.
My Forced Journey To Use Handbags

I used to be all about backpacks practical, roomy, and neon blue. Even now, I prefer it more. But now that I am an adult and alot of my friends are getting married now and then. Apparently, pairing a bright blue safari backpack with traditional attire is a “fashion crime” (according to my friends). So, in the name of aesthetics and avoiding further wardrobe interventions, I took the leap and decided to explore the world of handbags.
Actually, the first was a little white sling bag back in college, a cute synthetic-leather piece from Lavi which my mom got me. I couldn’t fit more than my phone and wallet, but it was classy. That relationship lasted about two to three years before it peeled. My next choice, however, turned out to be a more costly lesson.
The Caprese “Lesson” and My Switch to Allen Solly

When I bought my first sling bag with my own hard-earned salary, I chose a maroon Caprese bag that looked chic. It’s a bigger one. But wow, that bag and I did not hit it off. I still don’t know why I bought it. Priced at ₹4,000, it was a major letdown. First day in Goa with it, the strap attachment broke! Then, after three days, the texture started to whiten. After 6-8 months the texture started to peel off. Now we know why its always 6-months warranty. Customer service help me get the strap fixed, but there was no replacement or remedy for the white layer and peeling. Lesson learned: no more impulse buys!
I put an halt for buying new handbags till the year end. And comes 2024, after spending an entire month full of careful research, I finally decided to go with an Allen Solly bag I found on Myntra. Their designs had a certain unique flair, the prices felt fair, and I could see a great mix of class and art. They have different design family from ombre, gradient, print, textured, floral and shimmering range. And all has their own range of variety of bags from wallets, Satchel, hobo to oversized tote. And spoiler alert: I’m nine months in, using my satchel constantly, and it’s still going strong.

First Impressions and 9-Month Review: Allen Solly Satchel Bag

The bag arrived in pristine packaging. It looked much more good than it was shown in the picture. How often do you get that. It’s look with black with an Aztec foil print and a vintage style twist lock with the classic Allen Solly stag logo adds the most elegant touch to it. Gorgeous, right? I got it on sale for ₹1,234, and at first glance, it looked both durable and classy. But given my past experience, I held back on excitement until I’d actually tested it.

Fast forward to now: nine months later, and it still looks brand new! I’ve carried it everywhere, and the strap and stitching have held up perfectly, with no signs of wear. If that doesn’t convince me to be a loyal Allen Solly customer, I don’t know what will. I’d happily rate it 5/5 for quality and style. It’s a brand I can trust, as long as they keep up this level of quality!

8 Things to Look For Before Buying a Handbag
If you’re considering a handbag purchase, these tips will help you choose one that’ll last:
- Material Quality Over Looks
Focus on durability first. Faux leather, PU, canvas, or heavy-duty fabrics can handle daily wear and tear better than trendier materials. - Versatile Color
Neutral shades like black, beige, and brown match most outfits. Or, choose a subtle pop of color that blends with your wardrobe. - Check the Size and Compartments
Go for a bag that fits your needs and essentials without feeling bulky. Everyone has a different requirement, I need a smaller one, my mom prefers shoulder bags.. Find the one that balances with enough compartments as per your requirements to stay organized. - Comfortable Straps
Adjustable, thicker straps will save you from shoulder strain and slippage, especially if you carry more than just a wallet and phone. - Minimal Design, Maximum Use
Classic shapes are timeless. A minimalist bag can go with any style and won’t age quickly. - Durability Over Trendiness
Prioritize well-stitched, reinforced designs with strong zippers over fleeting trends. - Functional Closure
Secure closures like zippers and magnetic buttons protect your belongings, especially in crowded places. - Value for Money
Look for a balance between cost and features, and remember to compare reviews and prices online.
Armed with these pointers, you’re all set to find a bag that’ll be your go-to, day in and day out, without breaking the bank or without compromising. If you are interested do checkout Allen Solly products, it might just be your next handbag hero!
